Maybe Barandun will be a parliamentary group leader after all?
This remains the question of who will be the successor of parliamentary group leader Bregy. « I tend to be interested in it, » says Barandun. She likes to work in terms of content and like to decide quickly. But she emphasizes: « I don’t want to exclude a candidacy at the present time. » The Zurich National Councilor Yvonne Bürgin, now Vice President of the Middle, is also interested in the office of parliamentary group leader.
Barandun does not think that the women in the middle will neither hold the office of the Federal Councilor nor that of the party president. « We parliamentarians do not have the impression that we cannot fill prestigious offices in the middle if we really want that, » she says. After all, the middle with Doris Leuthard, Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf and Viola Amherd provided three federal councilors.
