‘Barakude’ learned opponents at the World Cup. Tucak: So, from the beginning immediately strong
A draw of groups of the World Water Polo Championship was held in Budapest, which will be held in Singapore from 12 to 24 July. Croatian water polo players in Singapore will defend world gold won in February last year in Doha. For the first time, our women’s national team will perform at the World Cup. « Barakude » will play in Group D with Greek, China and Montenegro.

– We could get some easier, maybe a more difficult group. That is always the case after drawing. The group is certainly difficult and demanding with the strong teams of Greece and Montenegro. From the beginning therefore immediately strong. I think it’s when you fight for a medal, and our goal is always like that, even better – said the menu Ivica Tucak for HVS.
Group A will be played by Italy, Serbia, Romania and South Africa, in Group B are Australia, Spain, Hungary and Japan, and in Group C Singapur, Canada, Brazil and the USA.
The first placed from the group will be placed directly in the quarterfinals, while the second and third place will be placed in the eighth finals. In the eighth finals, Group C and D « cross » C2-D3 and D2-C3.
There was also a draw of the World Water Polistwoman Championship, with our national team playing. Croatia will play in Group C with Greece, Japan and Hungary.
– A very difficult group for us, clearly. But we hope and we will fight to be the third in that group. We will fight, I believe with my girls and I know that they will approach each match and against every rival, with the aim of better games – said the Croatian national team coach Mia Simunic.
The competition system is clearly the same as in men, and is also « our » C group « Cross » with a D group.
