Bank « Point » launched a delivery service from Asia

The growth of the online trade market and consumers’ interest in Asian goods contribute to the development of cross-border trade services. So, the Bank « Point » launched a platform for entrepreneurs in the purchase of goods in China and India. Their resale on marketplaces remains beneficial due to the 80 percent margin of singers. But a slowdown in sellers on the largest platforms can restrain the development of the service.

The Bank « Point » launched a service for the wholesale purchase of goods from China and India for entrepreneurs, they told Kommersant in the company itself. They clarified that the project was oriented, including on the salaries of marketplaces involved in the resale of goods from Asian countries. The number of available areas of delivery in the future will grow. It is already planned to add South Korea to them. The turnover of the « Points » service this year, according to the expectations of the company, will amount to 10 billion rubles.

The Bank « Point » specializes in settlement maintenance and provision of related services for small and medium -sized businesses. In March 2025, it takes 30th place in the Banki.ru rating with assets of 317.3 billion rubles. According to its own sources, serves 700 thousand customers. The “Point” belongs to the consortium of investors, among which were called the Interros holding, VK, 1C, and management.

The minimum amount of the order of the goods from the supplier through the « Points » service will be 500 thousand rubles. excluding the cost of logistics. Its size can vary greatly depending on the season and type of goods, the company explains. The cost of registration of customs documents and assemblies during delivery remains fixed. It plans to earn a “point” service on a commission, the amount of which will be 5-10% of the order cost and will vary based on its price.

34.7 billion dollars

Compiled the turnover of the PRC and Russia following the results of January -February 2025, declining by 7.1%compared to the same period last year.

According to the estimates of the Association of Internet trade companies (Akit), the turnover of cross-border trade in the online segment last year amounted to 270 billion rubles, increasing by 37.1% a year by the year. But in the structure of the entire market, the proportion of the indicator remains insignificant, amounting to 3% of the turnover, they notice in Akit. The total volume of online trade over the past year, according to the organization, grew by 41%, to 9 trillion rubles.

In January – February, the volume of exports from China to Russia amounted to $ 14.9 billion, decreasing by 11% of the year, follows from the data of the Chief Customs Administration of the PRC.

Evgeny Sholchev, founder of the Sholchev consulting agency, notes that the range of goods from Asia is extremely in demand by Russian consumers. For singers, it remains highly margin: in Russia it is implemented on average with an 80 percent margin. The expert notes that in 2024 the number of orders on marketplaces of foreign goods, in particular China, increased by 60%. This, according to him, contributes to the growth of services for the selection of goods by sellers. The purchase cost of products in production countries is about 30% lower than in Russia, says Mr. Sholchev. The expert suggests that the use of third -party sites will be beneficial even taking into account the commission.

The difficulty for the development of a new direction of the “point” can be high competition.

The market presents a large number of platforms involved in cross -border purchases, says Alexei Moskalenko, president of the Association of Electronic Trade Representatives. He did not bring specific examples of players. But the expert does not exclude that for the “point” the main goal will be to keep his key audience in one ecosystem.

Another risk is a overall reduction in the development of the business of marketplaces. There are fewer singers on the platforms now, says Mr. Moskalenko. According to T-Bank Ecommerce, the growth rate of the number of singers in January-September 2024 decreased by 12 percentage points, to 22% of the year by the year. Market growth can slow down due to the effect of a high base, as well as high competition. Small business itself began to produce products more actively, and not to resell the previously purchased goods. According to the results of 2024, the number of production companies increased by 40%, according to the Moysklad service.
