The number of deaths in Bangkok after the 7.7 magnitude earthquake that hit the Myanmari on Friday has increased to 17, Thai authorities said today, while rescuers seek survivors in the ruins of a collapsed building.

Rescuers are focused on a 30-storey skirt collapsed in Bangkok, where there are believed to have more trapped people.
Ten deaths have been confirmed in the country so far, but more people are thought to be under ruins.
« Rescue crews found the body of a skyscraper today, » local media reported.
« They used a crane and a metal basket to remove the body from the debris in the early hours of the morning, » according to Khaosod newspaper.
The earthquake has caused significant damage to the Thai capital and has also been felt in some parts of China and Vietnam.
Myanmar’s opposition announces one -sided ceasefire
In Myanmar, the democratic shadowy of the country’s opposition today announced a unilateral two -week pause in its fighting with the ruling military junta, although the « defense operations » are excluded from it.

In an interview with the BBC, the UN special rapporteur for Myanmar, Tom Andrews, called on Junta to stop all military operations.
Nug fought against Junta shortly after the army seized power in a coup in 2021.
