Bakery strike begins Hs.fi
Work disputes|There are nearly 2,000 employees in the bakery strike.
Finnish Food Workers' Association (Sel) rejected a mediator Janne Metsämäki Settlement proposal for the food industry workers' labor dispute, the Food Industry Association (ETL) reports.
This means that a strike will begin in the bakery industry on Tuesday, March 11 at Fazer Leipomot Oy, Lantmännen Unibake Ab Finland and Vaasan Oy.
Läkko lasts until Sunday, March 16. According to the SEL announcement, it applies to nearly 2,000 employees.
The strike starts at 150 bakeries. Hs reported earlierFor example, the strike would apply to Fazer's bakeries in Lahti, Lappeenranta and Vantaa, all Fazer's store bakeries, and bakeries from the Vaasan bakery company Kiiminki, Kuusankala, Vammala and Vantaa.
The strike would also apply to bakeries in Lantmännen Unibaken Joutseno, Petikko and Hyvinkää.
“Not sure Bread runs out of the store, ”SEL chairman Veli-Matti Kuntonen says over the phone.
According to him, the strike will affect Fazer and Vaasan's products, but he does not tell you how. He says he can't say how much the impact of the strike is on the shelves of the store.
« A strike that no one would notice would not lead to anything, » he says.
Reconciliation was rejected because employees' salary increases would have been lower than the overall wage increases, Kuntonen says in SEL.
According to Kuntonen, the proposal for reconciliation would have brought weakening to working hours, such as ten hours of working days or six -day working weeks. According to him, Sunday's compensation would also have decreased.
The ETL announcement, in turn, states that the increases would have been in line with the general line.
The general level of wage increases in accordance with the general line is too high for many food companies, ETL's Work and Knowledge Advocacy Supervisor Anne Somer says in the bulletin. He adds that the more significant reform of the content of employment contracts would have been deferred again.
SEL and ETL negotiate a total of five collective agreements in the bakery industry, the meat industry, the dairy industry, in the industry, and the brewery and soft drinks. According to Kuntonen, negotiations in the bakery industry have been the most difficult.
