Back on Stage: Luxembourg starts ESC mission 2026

As RTL announced, the Grand Duchy will also be represented at the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest (ESC). After the victory of JJ with his song « Wasted Love » at this year’s final on May 17, the world’s largest music competition will take place in Austria. This was followed by a total of 166 million people on television in 2025.

« The choice of the song, which will represent the Grand Duchy in 2026, will again be a national selection in the Rockhal – the Luxembourg Song Contest, which is organized and transferred by RTL this year, » says the television station. How exactly candidates can apply this time will be announced in the coming weeks.

After 31 years of absence from the Great ESC stage, Luxembourg had returned to the competition in 2024. Tali Golergant was able to qualify with her song « Fighter » for the final in Malmö, Sweden, and reached a respectable 13th out of a total of 25 places. At this year’s edition it was to Laura Thorn to be on stage with her song « La Poupée Monte Le Son » – a homage to France Galls « Poupée de Cire, Poupée de Son ». She reached the 22nd out of 26 places. According to these remarkable services, the search for the next representative of Luxembourg will soon begin again on the large Eurovision stage.
