AZ beats Heracles after penalties and meets Eagles in the final

AZ has qualified for the cup final with the greatest possible effort. The club from Alkmaar beat Heracles Almelo after an equal position after regular playing time and extension (2-2) and twelve penalties (3-4). AZ will come across Go Ahead Eagles on April 21 in the final battle in De Kuip. The formation from Deventer stunted on Wednesday at champion PSV (1-2).

Goalkeeper Rome-Jayden Owusu-Oduro of AZ stopped penalties from Justin Hoogma, Ivan Mesik and saw Bryan Limbombe shoot the last penalty on the post. Keeper Fabian de Keijzer of the home team turned a penalty kick from Troy Parrott and saw Denso Kasius high. AZ can win the KNVB cup for the fifth time. Heracles did not succeed in reaching the final for the second time, after a defeat against PSV (3-0) in the final battle of 2012. The number 4 in the Eredivisie rankings eliminated FC Groningen, Ajax and Quick Boys earlier this season. Heracles, which state fifteenth, was on the way to the semi -final battle too strong for FC Winterswijk, NEC, De Graafschap and FC Utrecht.

AZ still missed the injured wing strikers Ruben van Bommel and Jayden Addai. Ibrahim Sadiq, also a winger, was still insufficiently fit for a base place. Yet it was the wing attackers who showed themselves in Almelo before half time. Left winger Lahdo prepared the opening goal of right winger Poku in the twelfth minute and also signed in the 27th minute for 1-2, after Mirani had headed the home team at the same height in the nineteenth minute. AZ dominated a large part of the first half and saw Peer Koopmeiners shoot on the post. Jan Zamburek headed on the post in the third minute on behalf of Heracles.

After the break, the game was more balanced. Substitute Mario Engels was close to the equalizer and Seiya Maikuma failed to shoot AZ to 1-3. Substitute Kristijan Belic led the equalizer after eighty minutes with a too soft play ball. Podgoreanu reacted Attent and shot the home team to an extension, in which the Sadiq invented at AZ did not use a big chance.
