Auto, the new scrapping appears: funds from the PNRR to buy electrics (with Ecobonus up to 11 thousand euros). How it works

Among the folds of the PNRR revision a new scrapping plan of polluting cars appears which should allow the purchase of electric ones. The money would already be there (almost 597 million euros) and would be from the funds intended for the installation of the columns that did not achieve the expected objectives. The funding, in fact, had to serve to put on 20,500 recharging control units on roads and highways, but the market did not respond as expected and the number will be reduced.

The goal

And so the funds do not spend for the columns will end up in the package of incentives for the replacement of 39 thousand internal combustion vehicles with new electric vehicles. The bonus, however, will focus in the most polluted urban areas, will be linked to the ISEE or the value of the new vehicle. The deadline is set at 30 June 2026.

The request to the EU

In the intervention – according to the draft – the micro -enterprises will also return for the purchase of commercial vehicles (category N1 and N2) always with zero emissions. According to the government, politicians such as this « confirm Italy’s dynamic approach in the management of the plan » and aim for « a real strengthening of the national ecological strategy, investing where the positive impact is guaranteed and rapid », as stated in the document transmitted to the European Commission last March 21 (then updated and approved on Monday 19 May by the control room).

Who can benefit from it

According to the documents of the « program of renewal of the fleet of private and commercial vehicles with electric vehicles » the contribution will go to those who will demolish the thermal car to buy a new electricity and in category M1 (up to 8 seats). But the benefits are also reserved for micro -enterprises that I intend to buy commercial vehicles, with zero emissions, intended for freight transport (categories N1 and N2, up to 3.5 and 12 tons of mass respectively).

The income thresholds

As for the thresholds, for natural persons – puts the document black on white – the incentive will be linked « to compliance with specific ISEE thresholds ». The contribution will thus be 11 thousand euros for those with an ISEE up to 30 thousand euros and 9 thousand euros between 30 and 40 thousand euros. For micro -enterprises, the bonus is set – except for changes – to 30% of the value of the electric vehicle, with a limit of 20 thousand euros.
