Auto supplier Hella is cutting 225 jobs – Diepresse.com
The Hella Vehicle parts Austria is reducing around 225 jobs at the Großpetersdorf (district of Oberwart).
Due to the increased competition and cost pressure, structural adjustments are necessary, the company stated in a broadcast on Thursday. The assembly activities therefore leave Großpetersdorf and will be relocated to the international network of the parent company Forvia Hella by the second half of 2027.
The extent that the extent of production -related functions is also intended to reduce the end of the assembly in southern Burgenland. Injection casting and refinement, on the other hand, will remain there, it said by the company. In the coming weeks, a social plan is to be negotiated with the works council in order to make job cuts as socially acceptable as possible. The production union (Pro-GE) also spoke out in a broadcast for social plan negotiations and announced that the works council and workforce are available with advice and action.
Hella justified the step with the fact that the already high competitive pressure in the agricultural and construction machinery business had further intensified. « As a result, this means that in its current line -up for the Großpetersdorf location, new orders will not remain sufficiently and the load on the location is foreseeable, » emphasized Stefan van Dalen, responsible for the Business Group Lifecycle Solutions from Forvia Hella.
Land wants to support those affected
Economic State Councilor Leonhard Schneemann (SPÖ) assured the person concerned in a written statement. He spoke out for a « round table » with AMS and social partners to develop measures and initiatives « so that the 225 employees affected can be integrated into the labor market as quickly as possible ».
Hella Vehicle parts Austria GmbH is a 100 percent subsidiary of the international automotive supplier Forvia Hella and offers lighting solutions for land and construction machinery. Forvia Hella has 125 locations worldwide and around 36,500 employees. (APA)
