Authorities account for eleven dead during the carnival
Between February 24 and March 5, the Carnival period, more than 3,500 road accidents and eleven deadly victims were registered.
In a note, the GNR states that it supervised more than 78,300 drivers, of which 1,093 conducted with excessive alcohol, having been detained 493 for driving with a blood alcohol rate considered a crime (more than 1.2 g/l) and 194 for driving without legal qualification.
In turn, PSP has supervised more than 22,000 drivers, having detained 380 people for road crimes: 199 by driving a vehicle in a state of drunkenness and 181 for lack of legal qualification to drive.
With regard to road offenses, GNR identified more than 15,000: 2,013 by speeding, 1,855 for lack of compulsory periodic inspection, 667 for lack of insurance, 475 for misuse of mobile phone during driving and 412 for lack or incorrect use of the seat belt and/or children for children.
PSP accounted for 7,188 road infractions: 1,072 for speeding driving, 742 for lack of compulsory periodic inspection, 259 due to lack of insurance, 215 by driving under the influence of alcohol and 145 for use of mobile phone during driving.
