Austrian rescue service revealed details: ‘Kostelic pulled out a 30-year-old freerider’

A few weeks ago, we reported on his rescue from the Montenegrin Sea, and now he decided to take a step further. Ivica allegedly once again tried the fate and in the Austrian Obertauern, where the snow fell last night.

The rescue action was followed by Kostelic and a skier who was successfully saved with him. He also had to intervene a rescue helicopter, and according to unofficial information, Austrian Benjamin Pichler was alongside the Croats. One of the skiers managed to get out on his own, while the other had to dig under the snow.

Austrian writes about Kostelic’s trouble Bergrettung Salzburg who described in the text exactly what happened:

« The 45-year-old Croat is overwhelmed by more than a meter of depth and was dug with a 30-year-old freerider from Salzburg. Two freeriders took up to the Valley independently of each other, » Austrians reportedly made by Michael Koch, Head of Mountain Rescue Operation Opertauern.

– The danger of secondary avalanche was great and it was decided not to be referred to the mountain rescuers to the area so far. After the first control flights, a rescuer was brought to the rope scene – he said, adding:

– It turns out that the accompanying freerider has participated in the excavation of a buried man.

Kostelic did not announce about the incident (yet). On social networks, he shared some vacation photos.
