Auction to sell chestnuts as early as early May

Although chestnut sales season is not approaching at all (it actually ended two months ago), they hurried at the magistrate with a auction of leasing houses for the next four seasons. This time, the rent will be new rules for the first time, and the most expensive location for the sale of autumn fruits continue to remain in Prešeren Square and Cankar’s embankment. At the magistrate, they expect at least EUR 9,000 or 36,000 euros, which is the price for the next four years.

At the end of October last year, changes to the Decree on the Special Use of Public Spaces in Ljubljana came into force, after which new rules were introduced at MOL for all tenants who (or will still be) erected catering gardens, kiosks and chestnuts in the streets and squares. The locations will be submitted for a maximum of four consecutive years with the auction, which apply « Who gives more », and not only from 1 October this year until the end of January next year. The public auction will be on May 7 (this is the day before the day of victory and the municipal holiday), the providers can apply by 23.

The most expensive and cheapest location

Last year, the municipality of the location for baking and sale (hot) chestnuts were determined at Tromostovje, at Cankar’s embankment near the footbridge over the Ljubljanica River, on Breg, in Miklošič Park, on Šubičeva Street and Zaloški opposite Moste Market. Four locations in the city center remain, for the first time they will erect a cottage on the Liberation Front Square (in the immediate vicinity of Addiko Bank or Bus Station) and on Celovška Road (near the Mercator store in the immediate vicinity of the former building Slovenia).

The starting rental prices are similar to last year. This means that the most expensive rental at Prešeren Square and Cankar’s embankment, where the starting price remains at $ 9,000, on the bank of $ 7,000, and for a location in Miklošič Park and on the Liberation Front market, they expect at least $ 1,500 for each. The cheapest will be the rental of the Type House near Celovška for at least $ 500. According to our calculations, the municipal cash register will be richer by at least € 139,000 (VAT).

What are the conditions

The minimum amount of price increase at a public auction is from 100 to 500 euros, depending on the location of the houses, but the new tenants will pay the user fee (as officials on the magistrate) per year. « The annual season of chestnut sales is considered to be from the first of October to the end of January, » they wrote in a publicly announced auction documentation. The contracts will be concluded for the first time for four years, and the tenants will be able to pay for each season or every year. At the same time, we add that future tenants will have to obtain all permits themselves to carry out such activities and pay a 22 % value added tax.

Chestnut sale houses will also be uniformly designed. Natural or legal persons who will participate in a public auction must also submit a statement that they have settled all obligations to the municipality in the last three years and that they have not violated the contractual provisions on the submission of public areas for the rent of houses for the sale and baking of chestnuts. Last year, the municipality of Ljubljana raised a good 34,000 euros by renting a chestnut sale.
