According to media reports, after the fatal shots on a politician and her husband in the US state of Minnesota, the police have taken the alleged perpetrator. The suspect was taken into custody on Sunday evening (local time) in Sibley County in the south of Minnesota, reported several US media, citing police officers.
The alleged perpetrator is a 57-year-old man who, according to US media, works in the security industry. Before the suspect was arrested, a car was found nearby, which should belong to him. The man had escaped after the crime on Saturday, whereupon a large -scale search was initiated.
Murder attacks on politicians
On the early Saturday morning (local time), the armed perpetrator had killed the democratic MP Melissa Hortman, who belonged to the parliament of Minnesota, and her husband Mark in the couple’s house in the city of Brooklyn Park. In another attack in the nearby Champlin, a democratic senator from the parliament of the state, John Hoffman, and his wife Yvette were shot down and seriously injured.
