Attempted to rob three Italian forcibly, the young man arrested in Durres

Durres police have arrested an 18-year-old man after attempting three Italian nationals, as well as investigations, also resulted in the author of two more thefts.

In the framework of the operation codenamed « Proof » was arrested citizen Dorjan Abazi, 18, resident of the seaside town.

He is charged with the offenses of « Violent Theft », attempted, « Theft », « Unlawful possession and production of weapons, explosives and ammunition » and « Destruction of property ».

“This citizen is suspected that in the early hours of the morning in neighborhood No.13, Durres, he attempted to rob personal items, 3 Italian nationals. Also, the investigation is suspected that this citizen, on 27.04.2025, in neighborhood no. During the search of the apartment of citizen Dorjan Abazi, a quantity of ammunition and some suspected stolen items were found and seized, ”Durres police said.

Also, in connection with the investigations carried out, he was released for the offense of « Failure to report crime » and citizen Ed, 36, resident in Durres.

Police say that in cooperation with the Prosecutor’s Office, work is underway to uncover and legal documentation of other thefts allegedly committed by Dorjan Abazi.

Procedural materials have been referred to the Durres Prosecutor’s Office for further action.
