Athens Medical Group: Mobile Medical Unit traveled to Samos for free exams to residents

The initiative was implemented in cooperation with Municipal Gender Equality Committee and Health KEP of the Municipality of Eastern Samosutilizing the new, state -of -the -art Mobile medical unit of the group.

OR Mobile medical unitstaffed with specialized medical and nursing staff of the Athens Medical Group, was found on the island by Wednesday 28 May until Saturday 31 May. The action was hosted at the Town Hall of East Samos and was warmly embraced by residentsas more than 300 people were examinedmaking a total of over 2,000 exams.

The Free exams included; Breast control (Mammography Digitized, Breast Ultrasound, Breast Surgeon Examination), Cardiological examination (Electrocardiogram, heart triplex, cardiologist examination), Blood tests (General blood test, glycosylated hemoglobin (HBA1C), hury, creatinine, uric acid, cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, triglycerides, Sgot, GPT, γ-gt, ferritin, thyroid), Thoracic radiography, optometry, acodes and spirometry.

Commenting on the initiative, Mr. Christos G. Apostolopoulos, Executive Vice President of the Athens Medical Grouphe said, « We were very pleased to respond to the mayor’s invitation to offer free medical services to the residents of Samos. The Athens Medical Group has also been a helper in the local community and in the past. Our goal is to equal access to all citizens to quality health care, regardless of geographical area, so we will continue to provide our services wherever and whenever there is a need for« 

On his side the Mayor of Eastern Samos, Mr. Paraskevas Papageorgiou, noted that ‘I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all doctors, as well as to the nursing and administrative staff, who, with tireless mood, smile and humanity, took care of our fellow citizens, far beyond the original planning of the appointments. «
