At the National Theater, Ralpha Liepa’s diploma work – Hofmann Sand Man / Day

The annotation of the show says: « Everything starts in childhood – in this case, with a mother’s story of sand, who is disobedient to disobedient children in the eyes and even pulls them out.

Ernst Theodore Amadeus Hofmanis (1776-1822) – writer, composer, lawyer and artist – is considered one of the most outstanding German romanticists and the authors of the 19th century. His works often combine Gothic aesthetics with psychological depth, fantasy and romantic ideas, and have the ability to enter the darkest layers of human consciousness. Hofmann’s story Sandman written in 1816 and is a typical example of German romantic literature, but at the same time there is also the first literary work in which the topics of psychological anxiety, schizophrenia and hallucinations are deeply studied.

The new director Ralph Liepa, who dresses this show in the trigger migration in the drama genre, says: « This is the story of self -search. Through fear, anxiety and self -expression that numb, inspire doubts and question his power and feel. Return to yourself.
