At the Ljubljana railway station also a 600 people shelter
Renovation of the Ljubljana railway station is the second largest railway project, that is, for the construction of the second Koper -Divača track. Work is done in accordance with the plans, the Minister of Infrastructure said Alenka Bratusek. The timetable will be completed in the summer of next year, and in 2027 the station will be joined by a new bus station.
Alenka Bratušek viewed the course of the work at the Ljubljana railway station, carried out by the ŽGP consortium, Kolektor Igin, CGP and GH Holding. At the construction site, the nearly € 200 million project (excluding VAT) workers build platforms. There will be six of them, which will be the villa of 13 railway tracks, eleven of which will be on the platforms, two will be intended for freight.
Construction workers have already flooded the foundations and build columns for a canopy that will be above the platforms and tracks. The foundations are also laid with the possible deepening of the tracks if the country ever decided. There will also be a shelter underground, where one floor will be dedicated to the train station and the other will be bus. There will be room for 600 people in the shelter.

Alenka Bratušek said that she expects all the contractors on all projects in the deadlines and in accordance with the price offered on the call. “I expect that this station will be completed within the time limit and scope as set out in the signed contract.” The Minister mentioned that a new tender for the train station and a hub in Jesenice will be published these days, which in the first attempt failed because the price offered exceeded the funds provided. Alenka Bratušek said about the second track that she was in contact with both the Turkish minister and the Turkish ambassador, who both assured that Yapı Merkezi remains in the project and in what form that partners in the consortium would agree.
Transport at the Ljubljana railway station is made according to the customized timetable, said SŽ Infrastructure, CEO Matjaž Kranjc: “Traffic is fairly normal and without major delays, which can also be confirmed by passengers. We expect some tightening from the start of phase C, which is scheduled for 1 September. We will then change the timetable in a timely manner and inform all users of changes in traffic. «

In the fall, the construction of a bus station, which will be along Vilhar Street and will make sense – along the sixth platform – connect with the train station. Slovenian Railways expects a building permit for the bus station in May, said Slovenian Railway CEO Dušan Mesand are preparing a call for selection of the contractor.
Construction of overpass at Orto Bar
In the area, the OTP Group also builds an Emonika complex with a shopping center, two hotels, business premises and three residential buildings, and Corwin the Vilharia Business Center. To the east is the mayor of Ljubljana Zoran Jankovic recalled the reconstruction of the line at the overpass at the Orto Bar, is expected to be at the beginning of next year, and the municipality will also adapt to this and begin to renew Masaryk and Šmartinska Road and spread the underpass under the railway. This will create additional traffic jams in the area.

Alenka Bratušek also recalled the planned construction of the two -tier lines towards Kranj, Ivančna Gorica and Kamnik and Tivolsko Loka. According to her, this is a short -term solution: “We are also preparing long -term solutions to avoid rail freight traffic to the center of Ljubljana. We have already presented our plans to the Municipality of Ljubljana and the suburban municipalities, in order to make the railway ring, especially for freight traffic, following the model of the road ring. The Tivoli arch, however, is a short -term solution, as it needs to be done immediately, not in a few years. We are already moving freight traffic from the main station towards Zalog. ”For the construction of about half a kilometer long Tivoli Loka, Ljubljana must change the municipal spatial plan, and the construction itself is expected to take several months.
