At the festival – surprises not only for Klaipeda residents

Klaipeda Music Spring will take place on April 4-25. It will be opened by a concert of the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theater Symphony Orchestra conducted by Richard Šumila.

The Lithuanian National, Lithuanian State and Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theater Symphony Orchestras will be performed at the anniversary festival, and the prestigious Baltic Chamber Orchestra Kreaterata Baltica.

Lithuanian choir « Young Music », Warsaw Technical University Academic Choir will perform for choral culture lovers.

According to Tadas Grabis, the head of the Klaipėda Concert Hall, this year is not only the 50th anniversary of the festival.

« On April 1, exactly 20 years ago, Klaipeda Concert Hall was established, so we are celebrating our anniversary and starting a new year, a new decade, at the same time introducing Klaipeda Music Spring, which will also be organized this year-the 50th anniversary, » said T. Grabys.

Professor Daiva Kšanienė said that this festival was primarily created for the residents of Klaipeda themselves.

Within a few weeks, viewers will see many professional symphony orchestras and performers.

« The very beginning was such that the festival has to show the audience all the collectives of Klaipeda – dances, folk ensembles, stage, choirs, everything that is, inserting those coming from elsewhere, » said D. Kšanienė, adding that the performers’ participation in the festival was considered a matter of prestige.

The repertoire artistic director Jurgita Skiotytė-Norvaišienė said that within a few weeks, viewers will see many professional symphony orchestras and performers, including an extremely talented soloist from France-11-year-old violinist Virtuosa Soro Lavorgna.

« We hope that next decade we will make a similar way to the festival, with a topic every year, » assured J. Skiotytė-Norvaišienė.
