Arrives was less than three thousand votes to elect third deputy in emigration
Electoral nights always have two very distinct looks, depending on those who look at the numbers. In the Legislatures of the 18th, the PCP was convinced that it could elect a second deputy in Lisbon, but about two thousand votes less made this desire impossible. When on Wednesday the votes of emigration were told, it was the arrival that was looking at less than three thousand votes, which allowed them to elect the second deputy for the circle of Europe, driving the AD away.
Considerations aside, and now we go again, the arrival got more votes in the circles of Europe, similar to what had achieved in 2024, and in the rest of the world, moving from second to first place. In the total of the two circles, André Ventura’s party reached 92,192 votes, 35,732 more than AD.
As a consequence of the counting of the vows of emigration, the arrival got two more deputies, one in each circle, like AD – the PS is that it lost the representative in Europe. Thus is closed the distribution of deputies in the Assembly of the Republic, with AD to take 91 elected to the benches, the arrival 60, the PS 58. In the Liberal Initiative, the liberal initiative has nine deputies, the free takes six to the Hemiciclo, the PCP has lowered to three and in the game of the district, read a deputy, are the BE, Pan and JPP.
In the circles of emigration there is a problem, which despite improving from 2024 to the 18th, remains very serious. It is that there are more null votes than the votes that the most voted party can. Everything is due to bureaucratic problems, nullifying many votes whose voter did not gather the citizen card and so on. It is certain that the National Elections Commission accounted for, in both circles, 113,449 null votes, if we think that the arrival managed 92,192, it is easily realized that it is urgent to change the voting system. Speaking a little more about numbers, it should be said that in Europe were registered 948,062 voters, having voted 255,305. Already in the circle outside of Europe, were registered 636,660 people, having 97,198 gone to vote.
There is no rule that can be applied to several countries, because in Europe in some the PS has increased the number of voters, but it is worse. In Germany, the PS was won in 2024, but now it was second, despite having 191 votes. In Belgium, where I was won, passes to third, but had 27 more votes. Already the arrival that was first, went from 934 votes to 1,558.
In Spain, the arrival kept third place, but went from 881 votes to 1,252. The big climb of arrival, as far as Europe is about, was in France – from 14,215 to 27,369, here the PS lost more than two thousand votes – and in Switzerland, where it rose from 16,226 to 24,533. Also in Luxembourg got many more votes from 2,676 from 4,133.

Looking at the numbers of the rest of the world, what jumps in sight is the first place in Brazil, although the arrival has diminished the number of votes: from 13,724 went to 12,930.
If in Canada and the United States of America is the AD that collects the most votes, the same is set in China. The National Commission of Elections does not detail, on its website, the votes of the African countries of Portuguese, becoming known that in the circle of countries of Africa AD was first, the arrival rose from third to second, changing places with the PS. But the circles of emigration turned out to be a mirror of what happened on the continent and islands, noting a free fall of the BE, which went from the fourth most voted force to sixth place. The liberal initiative performed the same and increased the numbers a little, but nothing significant: from 7,621 went to 8,515. Free also increases your vote in both circles.
