ARRA leader Gentian Gjyli appears in SPAK
The head of the Albanian Road Authority, Gentian Gjyli, appeared on Friday to the Special Prosecution.
It is not yet known what Gjyli was called to SAPK, but it seems to be investigations into former ARA leader Evis Berberi.
Recall that Gjyli was also summoned in January 2024 to SPAK on this issue where he stayed there for about two hours.
He testified about the procedures followed in the street tenders while he was Number 2 of the ARRA and director Evis Berberi, under investigation by SPAK under the security measure ‘jail arrest’.
Gentian Gjyli was appointed director of the ARRA, on March 28, 2024, a week after the arrest by former director Evis Berberi, the close man of Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku.
Gyli was an internal appointment to the ARRA. Previously he held the post of chief of the project sector and most recently that of the Deputy Director General of ARA.
Evis Berberi, was arrested on March 14, 2024 by order of SPAK after being charged with passive corruption and money laundering. SPAK discovered the scheme as the barber while he was in charge of the Energy Efficiency Agency, but also recently at the head of the ARRA had given 6 tenders of his partner Valter Begaj and then passed to the company he owned indirectly.
