Applying for the Latvian Architecture Annual Award / Day
This year, too, the Latvian Architecture Awards (LAGB) will also review two types of works – objects (completed and commissioned) and processes (research, publications, educational and other architectural events) in two rounds. According to the rules of the competition, the jury will evaluate the works based on Davos building culture quality systems, which offer eight quality criteria: beauty, management, functionality, environment, economy, diversity, context, sense of place. The principles set out in the Latvian architectural strategy will also be taken into account.

May 21 at 16.00 A meeting with members of the selection jury will take place at the Architects’ House, Torna Street 11, Old Town. 17.00 will be followed by a lecture of architectural critic Venta Vīnberg Latvian pineapple: Professional Awards 30 years. The authors who plan to submit to this year’s competition are especially invited, but everyone is welcome. You must register in advance to attend a free event.

The application deadline for the LAGB competition is from May 15, 2025 to June 20 (early login with a lower entry fee – until May 31). The prize finalists and the international jury will be announced in September this year. The award ceremony is scheduled for October 6.
