Appeal for Kukes, KAS rejects 3 DP requests
The Commission of Appeals and Sanctions (KAS) today decided to accept 3 of the 5 requests filed by the Democratic Party (PD) regarding the appeal for parliamentary elections in Kukes district, held on May 11. The PD coalition for the magnificent Albania demanded the opposition of the summary table of the Voting Results in Kukes and the cancellation of the elections in this district, with the request for repetition.
The KAS rapporteur, Ilirjan Rusmali, announced that the request was accepted regarding the review of DHL data on the Diaspora votes in Greece and the report of auditors Teknicien. On the other hand, KAS rejected the DP request for the intersection of data from the Electronic Equipment of the PEI to all Kukes polling stations, arguing the lack of evidence to justify the action.
KAS asked the Central Election Commission to make maximum efforts to provide and make available the required data as soon as possible. Regarding the register personally signed by any electorate in the diaspora, which certifies the receipt of the envelope and the electoral materials, KAS acknowledged the request for Greece and left the opportunity to submit other data during the review if they will be available.
The request for copies of special registries for each polling station was rejected, as it was not considered relevant to the main DP claims. Also, KAS emphasized that the minutes are documents that the complainant is legally possessed and there is no need for their available reset. The KAS session was interrupted and will resume on May 30 at 10:00 am, where the evidence accepted will be reviewed.
