« Antonio Forkione Quartet » concert in the Philharmonic

Antonio Forkionone is an Italian guitarist, composer and performer. According to many, not only from the audience but also from colleagues Gitarists he is « probably the best acoustic guitar player in the world », together at the top with Tommy Emanuel. Initially he studied percussion before switching to the guitar. Therefore, his playing shows strong and complex rhythms, as well as significant use of the body of the striking effect guitar. His musical imagination leads us from Gypsy Jazz notes, to Latin American rhythms and music from the two peninsula, Apennines and the Balkan.
His live performances are a truly sound spectacle, after which the audience regularly remains fascinated both by his magical technique and the imagination of the compositions. He has released 21 albums of primarily original material and has performed at festivals and theaters around the world. He often shares the scene with great musicians such as Charlie Hayden, Angelik Kijo, Trilock Gurtu, Sarah Jane Morris and many more. In 2019, his « Aka Trio » for the album « Joy » won the annual award for Best Album of the Year of World Music.
In Skopje, Antonio Forkionone performs on May 24 in the big hall of the Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra with his quartet, which has countless performances on the world music scenes along with great music names.
