Antalya Airport opened to service with its new terminals – Cyprus Newspaper
Antalya Airport has gone through a major innovation process with its capacity increase and modernization works.
The opening of the new internal and international terminals was opened by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
With the tender initiated in December 2022, the construction process started with a place to the company on January 5, 2023 and was completed by 99 percent as of now.
Passenger capacity increases to 82 million
With the project carried out by the General Directorate of State Airports Authority (DHMİ), the annual passenger capacity of Antalya Airport was increased from 35 million passengers to 82 million. Terminal-2 area, 90 thousand 143 square meters of 224 thousand square meters expanded. Domestic Terminal was enlarged from 36 thousand 859 square meters to 75 thousand square meters.
Renewal work
The expansion project, which is carried out with an investment of 750 million euros, includes renewing the infrastructure of aviation systems. In addition to internal and international terminals, many innovations such as new passenger bridges, aprons, parking areas, hangar regions and VIP halls have been included in the project. In addition, infrastructure units such as chief -building building, mosques, tower, aircraft maintenance hangars, fuel facilities were modernized.
