Johan Alvfors has in an answer on en Submitter pleaded for a parallel non-confessional membership for those who share the Church’s values, but not its faith.
In a valuable comment by Pastor Christina Molin she points out the opportunity to pay her church fee to the Equmenia Church without being a member. It should be possible to make the same desire to pay church fees to the Swedish Church without being a member. Instead, if you want to provide support to other activities in the church other than the general, there is the possibility of earmarked gifts.
Alvfors wishes are interesting, because it can be seen as a trend break. No statistics are taken on the reasons for exit, but I think it is often about disappointment at something in the Swedish Church at large or in its own congregation. So far, one cannot be a member of a congregation other than the one in which you are registered in the population and must resolve the dissatisfaction with your own congregation by leaving the Swedish Church.
By that nowadays It is easier to see how much money is deducted from tax in the Swedish Church, many for financial reasons have gone out. A third reason to leave has been the will to pull out the consequences of a non-faith. Especially when this year, church elections are usually increased.
Nevertheless, the church’s services are sometimes requested at funeral services, marriage and baptism of the children. The pressure from the time of the unit church means that many have felt a pressure to keep inherited customs. However, the situation in the country is that participation in church documents has also decreased. We call it the Christianity.
Here, the opposite desire, without sharing the church’s faith and wanting to join baptism will still support the church. I see it as a step in the opposite direction, which could be called « christening ».
