Another sentence for sexual assault
Seven women and five men meeting Weinstein for five days. They finally issued a judgment: guilty of sexual assault Miriam Haley on a former television assistant. In the case of rape on the actress Jessica Mann, the decision has not yet been made, and the charge of assault on Kaja Soka was rejected.
A scandalous process that divided the jury
The deliberations were turbulent. As reported by the BBC station, the jury accused each other of prejudices, and the chairman of the bench alerted that some jury was trying to force their beliefs about Weinstein’s past.
This judgment is only part of Weinstein’s problems. He had already been sentenced to 16 years in prison for sexual offenses in Los Angeles. Now the court in New York will impose further sanctions on him. It seems that the former film tycoon will spend the rest of his life behind bars.
But the defense does not intend to let go. The spokesman of Weinstein claims that the trial was not fair.
« The jury was guided by emotions, not evidence, » said Weinstein spokesman in a statement cited by the BBC. It also announces an appeal and an investigation into potential irregularities during the jury.

On Thursday, the sworn bench resume the meeting regarding the allegation of rape. Will Weinstein hear another sentence? This question remains open for now.
