Another heat record has been measured
« Although today’s seaside and bay are cool (even after daytime temperatures are only 10-13 degrees Celsius), there was another record warm April day in southern Lithuania. Based on preliminary data, a new April 21st air temperature record was measured.
The previous record of today was recorded exactly 75 years ago (21.04.1950) in Lazdijai and Vilnius, then the temperature rose to 25.9 degrees (ie 0.7 degrees less than today).
« This year it is already a record of the highest air temperature this year. In 2024, there were 18 in total, 16 in 2023, 16, 2022 – 13, and 6 in 2021, » said the service.
On Tuesday, it will be very warm on the eastern side of the country. The highest temperature will be 20-25 degrees, and in Western Lithuania many places 14-19 degrees. Wednesday and Thursday will warm up to 16-21 degrees. From Friday, the weather will cool even more and at night it will be bitten by frost.
On Wednesday night, the larger part of the country, mainly in Eastern Lithuania, is expected to rain, it is possible to thunderstorms, and no significant rain is expected during the day. At night, fog is in some places. Wind in the north, northwest, 3-8 m/s at night, 4-9 m/s during the day.
