Another Blackout. A powerful power failure in France
The organizers of the Cannes Film Festival informed that Saturday’s power failure, which affected the southern part of France, would not disturb the closing ceremony of the event planned for the evening.
Although temporary technical problems during one of the projections have occurred before, they will not affect the further course of the event.

In the morning the show of one of the films was interrupted and resumed after about 20 minutes. The organizers later assured that thanks to the launch of the emergency power supply system, it would be possible to carry out all events.
In this festival’s completion ceremony planned for 18 o’clock, without further difficulties.
160 thousand houses without electricity
The failure affected the western part of the Seaside Alps department. In Cannes and nearby towns, about 160,000 households felt its effects.
According to the AFP agency, citing sources, the cause of the problems could be a fire in the electrical substation, which occurred at night from Friday to Saturday. There is a suspicion that there could be a deliberate set.
