Angelov expects local elections to work to unite CMC and SSO

Director of the Crisis Management Center Stojance Angelov hopes that after the local elections the process of establishing the institution that would unite the competences of the Crisis Management Center and the Directorate for Protection and Rescue would be completed.

In a television appearance, Angelov said tonight that 19 laws should be changed and that a working group was formed in the government led by Deputy Prime Minister Ljupco Dimovski, who is already working on this issue.

– We are working on merger, ie I would say the formation of a new institution that will unite the functions of the two existing ones. The difference between the new institution is that it would have a coordination and command role because at this point we as CMC coordinate, but we have no command role – said Angelov.

He expects the three « Air Tractors » to extinguish fires this summer, along with three pilots, and for the supporting wall that crashed at the Children’s Clinic in Skopje, he said a government decision had been made to allocate funds from the repair budget.

– The situation is specific, but I am optimistic. The SSO is beheaded, but the government is working to find a solution. I am convinced that the year in the summer will have the three « Air Tractors » along with three pilots – said Angelov.
