Androulakis: To extend the hazardous and unhealthy work allowance and to combat firefighters
The Fire Brigade on the Cross of Volvi Municipality, in Thessaloniki, was visited by the PASOK President of Change Movement, Nikos Androulakis.
« Thank you for your struggle and titanic effort every year to protect human lives, property and the natural wealth of the country. We have a duty to be with you and we will be with you, ”Mr. Androulakis noted, opening the debate with the women and men of the Fire Service.

« The Fire Department needs meritocracy, adequacy training, but also a fair treatment, which unfortunately does not exist in many cases. That is why we believe that the dangerous and unhealthy work allowance should be expanded to the fighting firefighters, ”the opposition leader added.
In addition, he referred to PASOK’s two parliamentary initiatives for seasonal firefighters.
« Polar protection, which is central to the arm of the Fire Brigade, is a priority for a durable country and not to cry over burnt every summer. The vortex of climate crisis cannot be used as an alibi for the disasters. The central issue is prevention and a large part of the expenditure must be oriented to prevention projects in the winter months, ”concluded Mr. Androulakis.
