Androulakis: « There is no investment and support of the domestic defense industry »
The International Defea Defense and Security Fair in Spata was visited by the PASOK Change Movement President, Nikos Androulakis, On the morning of Thursday, May 8th.
« Our country is in a critical geopolitical position. That is why our priority should be defense and security. There are many challenges. Very large equipment programs are prepared. Unfortunately, however, there is no investment and support for the domestic defense industry, « Mr Androulakis said in his statements.

« In our country, a percentage of 0.02% of GDP in research and development of domestic defense industry is invested, while Europe’s average is three times as much. For this reason, we need to change strategy: to have a long -term plan to strengthen the domestic defense industry. We must stop being only consumers, but also to be equipment co -producers, so that there is a strong footprint and added value to the domestic economy, and not just huge public costs that essentially help other countries to grow and not ours, « he added.
