Androulakis: PASOK Betting The Renaissance of the National Health System

The Venizelio Hospital in Heraklion, Crete, was visited by its President PASOK – Change Movement, Nikos Androulakis.

« The Greek people pay the second largest private health costs across Europe. This alone has to make us make faster important decisions to regenerate the national health system, a pillar of social justice, « Mr Androulakis said in a statement.

« The NHS has very great challenges in front of him »

« PASOK is prioritized to regenerate the National Health System. This means a powerful primary care network throughout Greece, it means incentives for doctors and nurses, integration of nurses into heavy and unhealthy, – as is the case in the private sector – and infrastructure. The recovery fund was a great opportunity. There were some steps, but timidly, while the national health system has very high challenges ahead of it, ”he added.

Asked about the construction project of BOAK and the Prime Minister’s promise that the road will not bypass Sitia, Mr. Androulakis stressed:

« The prime minister, once again, is mocking the citizens of Sitia. He rejoiced commitments that BOAK’s studies would also be proceeded on Sitia. It was exactly the same in 2019. What did it do from 2019 to 2025 to prove that all this is not just words? We believe that this project is very important for the development of Crete. But it is a matter of social justice and regional development for BOAK to equal all the inhabitants of the big cities of our island, « he concluded.
