Tsekov was Minister of Regional Development in the Denkov Cabinet from June 2023 to April 2024 and the clarification of his actions and his relations with Peevski refers to this period.

After yesterday’s reply to the address of Tsekov’s family, which lacks specific data to which journalists would go into their inspections, today Peevski suggested that they ask him « how many hundred million levs he paid as a minister of his employers ». Again, he did not specify who the employers were and on what reason the payment was made.

He also resorted to the argument with the « coffee shop » in his office, with which he had used another time to vulnerable his political opponents: « Tsekov ask him how often he was sitting in my office, drinking a coffee shop and saying: You are the only person who thinks about the state, but I have to be able to endure them. Co -chairs Kiril Petkov and Assen Vasilev wanted to set up a fund (it was not understood exactly what fund – ed.) And promised Tsekov to make it the leader of the party.

Finally, he recommended to the journalists: « Asn Assen Vassilev what his relationships with Pascal and Taki are. »

According to Tsekov, at the time he was a minister, Peevski called him to insist that the contracts of three companies selected to mediate under toll services be terminated. Asked about his previous employer, Tsekov said that since March 2015 he has not worked with construction companies, and his employers in the last four years are the Council of Ministers and the National Assembly.

According to Tsekov, Peevski indirectly acknowledged his influence in the allocation of public procurement for road construction. In another conversation at a meeting of the constitutional majority Tsekov, he told him that he would not allow the intervention of (alleged as an unofficial broker in this sector the head of « Vodstroy 98 » – ed.) Ivan Mirinski in tenders, and Peevski replied that he had already withdrawn Mirinski.

In response to clarifying questions, Tsekov explained that he was in the Cabinet of Peevski at the invitation of the then chairman of the parliamentary regional committee Nikolay Nankov (GERB), who determined the place of the meeting.
