And the « common » parents were right

When I recently talked about television series that ran « back then » during our childhood, I noticed that I went through a restrictive upbringing compared to him. When the colleague regretted me with a compassionate « Oh real? You poor », my twelve -year -old I might have agreed. Today, however, I see things a little differently.

As a child, the problem of a high screen time did not really come to my mind, I only knew that « others were allowed to go ». For adolescents alone, that is of course reason enough for a rebellion, be it the discussion about bed times or, as in this case, via computer, Gameboy and television. At that time I would rather have not had to choose between computer game and television, and I would have liked to « gamble » for a longer time or either « punched ».

But I still had a bit of a look, especially since video games and television were not exactly forbidden to me. Instead, I read a lot, played with a clamping module or ran the bike through the field, forest and meadow. Afterwards I am very happy and grateful that my parents have bought the trouble of sinking from the screen for too long.

Today, as an adult with a corresponding personal responsibility, I have to take on the tedious task myself. After all, I am not in danger of starting with so -called « ball playing ». I couldn’t keep up with the reflexes of hyperactive teenagers anyway.
