Kosovo lawmakers failed to complete the constituent session, which began on April 15, nor for the twelfth time, due to disagreements among the largest parties.

The parliamentary session was interrupted again as the winning party in the February elections, the self -determination movement, did not receive enough votes to form a secret ballot commission for the Parliament Speaker.

The Democratic Union of Kosovo, a third party, after winning 20 parliamentary seats, yesterday rejected the offer of self -determination both parties to form a ruling coalition.

The leader of the Democratic Union of Kosovo, Jumir Abdigiku, called for the formation of a transitional government until the election of the new president of Kosovo in April 2026, when the mandate of current President Vjosa Osmani ends.

Abdigiku reiterated that cooperation with the leader of Self -Determination, Albin Kurti, is impossible.

While Self -Determination MP, Zeljalj Levchlja, said his party was against the interim government.

More than a month after confirming the final election results, or 14 days after the first constituent session, the Kosovo Assembly is still without president and vice president, and Kosovo is still without a new government.

According to official elections on February 9, from 100 seats in the Kosovo Parliament, Self -Determination won 48 seats, PDK 24, the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) 20 and AAK/NISMA eight. The remaining 20 places are intended for minority communities.

The process of forming a new government in Kosovo can start only after the election of President and Vice President of the Assembly. Election of a new government requires the support of at least 61 MPs in parliament, which has 120 seats.
