An unusual vortex in the sky over Poland. Experts explain
This is not the first time that the inhabitants of Poland can observe unusual phenomena related to space. Only in February there was an uncontrolled deorbitation of the Falcon 9 rocket belonging to SpaceX, which entered the atmosphere of the Earth just over Poland. As a result, fragments of the structure fell, among others in the vicinity of Poznań.
Start of the secret mission Falcon 9
The Falcon 9 rocket started on March 24 at 18:48 Polish time from the SLC-40 starting complex at Cape Canaveral in Florida with the NROL-69 mission on behalf of the National Recognition Office (NRO) USA. The purpose of the mission was to place the US-498 satellite in orbit for an undisclosed purpose. It is known that the first step of the rocket returned to Earth at Cape Canaveral, which was his second successful flight. Earlier he supported the mission of Starlink.
A luminous vortex over Poland – what was it?
The right flight trajectory and the slope of the orbit made the rocket flight visible in the sky over Poland.
During the second flight over our country, the second rank of Falcon 9 dropped fuel before the planned deorbit. (…) It happens in space – a few hundred kilometers above the ground – where there is no air, so the thrown gases do not distract chaotically, but form symmetrical structures.

If during this process the rocket additionally rotates around its axis, the released fuel can form spiral structures, resembling a cosmic vortex or a luminous galaxy. When, in addition, the sun does not manage to hide behind the horizon and highlights the vortex, you can observe an extremely spectacular view in the sky.
« I did not inform about this phenomenon, because it did not occur to me that they would do it in this orbit and only on two laps after the start. It is very unusual! » – summed up Wójcicki.
