The construction and representation of music and dance practices in public performances play an important role in cultural self -determination, as is the partnership between researchers and communities in traditional culture and its research. « We want to pay attention to this conference how local traditions are shown in public performances. The focus of the discussions will also include personal experience of singers, dancers and musicians, thoughts and actions in various public performances. ethnomusicologists and ethnoohorologists network International Council for Traditions of Music and Dance (ICTMD, International Council of Music and Dance Tradition) Anda Beitāne in Latvia.

The professor in particular invites those who are interested in seeing the experiences and researchers of different Baltic and Nordic countries at the conference. Interestingly, the theme of the conference has also addressed a number of ethnomusicologists, ethnoohorologists and event organizers in Austria, who, with their participation, will not only expand the geographical boundaries of the North and Baltic Network, but will also talk about cooperation at folk music and dance festivals in Europe. We are often used to vertical organization models in Latvia, so it will be interesting to compare the experience and practice of different countries. “Ethnomusicologists’ conferences are difficult to imagine without the presence of music and dance, so we are very happy and grateful to the ethnographic ensemble of Otaņķi, the Liepaja Children and Youth Folklore Kocis, Suiti wives, men and duders, who will represent the local traditions of Nica and Suiti cultural space for conference and listeners, ”reveals A.
