An alternative to Germany again remained short sleeves – the world

The AFD would like to have presidents six Bandestag Committees, but none of its candidates passed the voting. Why?

An alternative to Germany (AFD) was expected to suffer defeats during the vote for the Presidents of the Board in the new convocation of the Bundestag. In all six committees in which the party has the right to propose presidents, its candidates did not go through.

In the powerful budget board, a candidate of AFD Ulrika Shilka-Cizing was not elected, and the candidates and parties in committees for legal issues, internal affairs, work, finance and petitions were also passed.

Since no president was elected, members with the longest internship have temporarily taken over the management of committees. None of them is a politician of AFD.

The current bundestag has 24 committees. They specialize in different areas and play a central role in the legislative process. Politicians from various parliament groups are sitting in them in line with the majority structure of the Bundestag. They prepare legislative decisions that are later discussed at the plenary session of parliament. They also consult experts, and consultations in crisis consultation are also met.

The Presidents of the Board convene, prepare and preside meetings, and represent the Board. The presidents must choose the majority of board members – and that is why they need voices of other parliament groups.

Was to be expected

The AFD has passed similarly in the previous bundestage convocation. Since the party considered that her rights to equal treatment as the Parliamentary Group, filed a lawsuit with the Federal Constitutional Court. However, it was judged that the process of appointing an internal matter of parliament.

That is why it was to expect that AFD MPs would not fail again in the elections for the Presidents of the Committee in the new convocation of the Bundestag. Ahead of the constituent session of the Committee, the management of the parliamentary group of ruling demohrišćan (CDU / CSU) proposed its members not to support AFD candidates. The first parliamentary secretary of the Parliamentary Group also ruling Social Democrats (SPD), Dirk Visas, said, « Today we do not choose AFD MPs for the Presidents of the Committee. »

The German Federal Conditioning Service classified the AFD in early Maya AFD as a « checked right extreme » party. However, after the AFD filed a lawsuit against that classification, and the service for the protection of the constitutional order for now suspended its implementation for procedural reasons.

AFD: It’s « Discrimination »

After the unsuccessful choices for the Presidents of the Board of the AFD, Alis Vajdel said, « We, as the management of the AFD Party and the Parliament, we condemn. » The Vajdel accused other parliamentary groups for « discrimination ».

Another AFD co-chair, Tino Krupala, called on other parties to « interrupt with these games. » With « excluding » AFD must be stopped, given, as reminded, ten million her voters in February elections.

Demohriscians, however, reject those criticism. « Each parliamentary group has the right to present their candidates, and they need most, » Sep Miller President Sep Miller said. « I don’t know what is undemocratic. On the contrary: the most democratic is a good choice in the appropriate board, » Miller added.

The presidents of other committees were elected

And while the committees in which the right to name the president belongs to AFD, they are still waiting to be constituted, other committees appointed new presidents.

CDA Armin Lašet is a new president of the Committee for Foreign Affairs, while his party colleague Thomas Revecamp will chair the Defense Board. The former co-advantage of Saski Esken now chairs the Green Anton Board, a politician of the Committee for European Affairs, and Member of Left Lorenc Gesta Bojtin is the President of the Environmental Committee.
