An active conversation with business life
Prime Minister Kristrún Frostadóttir says that the government has a great deal of communication with the business community in various areas and that they will not be neglected.
She does not want to comment directly on the call of the Confederation of Icelandic Employers (SA) on the « conversation » of the business community and the government due to economic uncertainty and competitiveness, which Jón Ólafur Halldórsson, newly elected chairman of SA, expressed in an interview with Morgunblaðið; It happens in other forums.
« For example, I know that there has been a very active conversation with the tourism industry regarding the implementation of access control, » the minister said in a conversation with the newspaper after a government meeting yesterday.
« We want to do this well, want to provide good data and analyzes, because many things are strangely clear, like just the counts of tourists. But we hope the minister will submit plans in the late summer and the industry will have a completely 12 month space for adaptation. »
But other articles?
« The Minister of Energy is also in a very active conversation with the energy sector. He is not here at a government meeting because he is north of the Samorka Assembly. But that cooperation has been extremely successful. »
The Prime Minister reiterates that it applies to more stakeholders in the business sector.
« We are starting out in the formulation of employment policy, and of course, stakeholders will come and have actually declared themselves to such cooperation.
It does not necessarily mean that the interest groups are sitting in the Employment Policy Council, it may be better that they have external eyes on it, but it is a good basis for open communication on business as a whole, « says the Prime Minister, mentioning that she has had a meeting with the Confederation of Icelandic Employers,
« In my opinion, that active conversation has been going on. »
The Minister of Industry
Always a conversation but not
« We are always in conversation with the Confederation of Employers. I have not actually met a new chairman and do not recognize that he has called for a meeting, » says Hanna Katrín Friðriksson about the call of SA after the « conversation » of the business community and the government. « He just comes to me with those ideas. »
