Amnesty on Human Rights: Israel conducts genocide in the Gaza Strip to Humanitarian Disaster in Sudan – World

Amnesty International in its annual report shows the dark picture of the state of human rights. Among other things – in areas affected by war civilians are under increasing pressure, minorities are endangered in many societies …

Amnesty International (AI) considers that the system of universal human rights in the world is in danger: « new and dark forces conduct Hajuk to the ideal of universal human rights, » Anjes Kalamard, Secretary of the Amnesty International, in the introduction of this year’s report.

The current annual report of amnesty has 409 pages and speaks of human rights condition in more than 150 countries.

Distinctive three patterns

This year, Amnesty recognizes three patterns. The first: Civilian population in the field affected war is under increasing pressure.

« In our annual report, we describe the general trend. The rules that should apply, red lines, which is less respected, » says in conversation for DW Julia Duhrov, the Secretary General of the German Branch of Amnesty. Examples for that, as he says, conflicts in Sudan, Gazi, Ukraine and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Another example, states Duhrov, are minorities that are endangered in different countries: quir of persons, refugees, people who think differently.

And the third: more and more states fail to oppose human rights crisis. This applies to countries that used to be devoted to universal human rights, such as the United States.

« The American government acts as an interpreter of this crisis of human rights and thus endangers billions around the world, » explains Duhrov, stating as examples against the International Criminal Court and the United Nations Human Council.

Israel conducts « genocide » in the gauze belt

A special focus of Amnesty again puts on the Gaza band – a conflict that broke out in October 2023. after the terrorist attack Hamas to Israel, during whom thousands of people were killed.

And accuses Israel to perform « genocide » over the Palestinians. « The international community was helplessly that Israel kills thousands of thousands of Palestinians, including entire families and generations, and destroys the foundations of their existence – houses, hospitals and schools, » said in the report. These allegations, this NGO has already substantiated in a report at 300 pages published in December last year.

However, the accusation of genocide is controversial. The Government of Israel categorically rejects these claims, and human rights lawyers, such as Stefan Talmon, are suspected by the legal merits of these charges. On the other hand, other non-governmental organizations such as Hjuman Raht Voča accuse Israel for « genocidal actions », for example a targeted policing of civilian population.

Humanitarian disaster in Sudan, but not genocide

Sudan has been facing a civil war for more than two years, which has the worst consequences for civilian population. « More people are displaced there than anywhere else in the world, » stands in the report.

The former US government accused the rebel group for genocide. Amnesty does not talk about it in its document, but about mutual violence and calls for the introduction of embargo on weapons. However, the General Secretary of Duhrov does not exclude that AI could come to the conclusion that genocide is implemented there.

Attitude towards climatic and bastard protests in Germany

In the case of Germany, Amnesty, in addition to stricter asylum laws, criticizes and attitude towards protests.

The climate movement is criminalized and « during the protest of solidarity with Palestinians, we experienced flat bans, police violence and inappropriate reactions of government, » says Duhrov. In this amnesty, he includes the dissolution of the Congress, court judgment due to slogans and police action during demonstrations, which evaluates as too repressive.

What is not covered in the report are attacks on journalists associated with bastard demonstrations, such as a particularly serious attack in Leipzig in January 2024.

Amensti did not document a difficult physical attack on a student Lahava Shapir in February 2024. when he received the concussion, and the face of the death was now characterized as anti-Semitiously motivated. When asked about that, Duhrov expires:

« We fight anti-Semitism and all xenophobic attitudes and attacks, including those based on racism and Islamophobia. We can only publish what we have investigated and documented. It happened in this particular case, » said Duhrov.

REQUEST: Return to respect for human rights and e.g. Arrest of Netanyahua

Amnesti appeals to governments to return to the rules based on the rules and respect human rights and international law.

According to Julia Duhrov, it also involves respecting and implementing international arrest orders, such as the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanjahua. The UN Security Council would also be necessary.

Despite all the negative things, as she said, there are also positive developments, which showed protests in South Korea. « In addition to negative, we always see positive shifts. Human rights have the people coming on to the streets to put human rights in the center of their policy, it is necessary to engage all – it depends on all of us, » Duhrov concludes.
