Ammunition for Ukraine: Slovak residents collected another 400,000 euros
The announcement comes the day after the bloody attack.
BRATISLAVA. Almost a year after the announcement of the civic collection of ammunition for Ukraine She sends her a third wave of military aid to our eastern neighbors. Specifically, there are 254 pieces of artillery grenades of 122 mm with a total of EUR 397,169.
“Unfortunately, we are witnessing the constant ignoring of challenges to the ceasefire by the part Russia. Their barbaric attacks, as well as the recent ones on the cover of Rih or the amounts in which dozens of civilians have died together, including innocent children, clearly prove that Russia is a terrorist state and is not interested in peace. Our help to Ukraine is therefore all the more important, ”said Marián Kulich, a representative of the Mier Initiative to Ukraine, who is behind the campaign.
Over the past twelve months, more than EUR 5.1 million from 76,000 donors have been raised. The main ambassador of the collection is the 100-year-old veteran SNP Otto Šimko.
The public collection was established after the Slovak government refused to join the Czech Republic’s initiative. The authors of the civil collection have been working with the Czech project Dárek Pro Putina, which mediates the purchase of the purchase military assistance.
« This purchase of artillery grenades was also made on the basis of the specific requirements of the Ukrainian party and in compliance with the current needs of their army on the front.
In previous waves of assistance, the Slovaks were collected for more than 2700 pieces of artillery grenades worth four million euros and for grenades for grenade launchers for 400,000. Overall, this is aid of almost 4.8 million euros.
The remaining unused funds will be allocated in other waves of aid – including financial gifts that will be collected in the meantime. The initiative takes place continuously, although there is currently no specific communication campaign around it.
