However, it should be emphasized that the study was only conducted in the English -speaking part of the world, so several other widespread collections of lame names are left overboard.

By comparing the communication habits of 20 countries, researchers at the University of Queensland found that 0.036% of all American -written words were considered to be coarse. In second place is the British rankings, which are significantly lower – 0.025%. The third are Australians themselves with 0.022%, while the next three places with very similar results are occupied by the people of Singapore, New Zealand and Malaysia. Interestingly, the praised rented with beer bar culture is less. The list is concluded by Bangladesh, where lame words are extremely rare in correspondence. They account for only 0.007% of all communication.

In the course of their work, scientists analyzed 1.7 billion words published in blogs, social networking records and portal news. As you could have expected, most often llamas have been spoken on sites where the content is freely made up of people themselves and is mostly informal, namely blogs and socialization sites.

The data analysis allowed the authors of the work to determine the most commonly used rudeness in each country. They were often partially hidden or written grammatically incorrectly so that the filters embedded in publication sites could not identify and delete them, but the researchers managed to list these cases as well. As a result, the American favorite « battle cries » are known in Hollywood films often heard lame names asshole and fuck, the British most commonly used in Cunt, Bloody and Twat, while the rent chooses to their characteristic Feck. Pakistanis, who are second official in English, do not fall in English often, but mostly use one word – Butthole. In total, the most common written rudeness in all 20 countries is fuck.

They describe the vulgar language as « a natural playground for unlocking linguistic creativity by constantly transforming and adjusting their aesthetics. » They were especially amazed by the fact that the Australians are in third place.
« The Australians really consider vulgarity, cursing and slang to be part of their culture – it is rooted in us, » writes leading researcher Dr. Martin Schweinberger, « One possible explanation is that Australians are more conservative when writing online, but not so much when they meet in person. »

He added that the study could help the arrivals to know in time whether cursing is an important part of social interaction, and to prepare for such communication.

« The ability to understand when it is properly used for humor, informal expressions, or even mild vulgarity can have a significant impact on the feeling of inclusion, relationships and everyday life in a new culture. It should be remembered that the object of the study was written language. In oral communication, lame words are much more common, but we can assume that the general level of culture from this study can be understood.
