American singer Angie Stone (63) died in traffic accident

The American R&B and Neo-Soulartiest and actress Angie Stone died on Saturday at the age of 63 in a traffic accident. That reports News channel CNN. Stone scored a global hit with the song in 2002 'Wish I Didn't Miss You'.

The singer had performed in the city of Mobile (Alabama) and was on his way to Atlanta in the state of Georgia with a touring car, but never arrived because of the accident. Nothing is known about the condition of the other nine passengers.

« Angie Stone's voice and mind will forever live on in the hearts of those she has hit, » a spokesperson said in a statement, according to CNN.

Stone (1961) was born in Columbia, South Carolina and gained fame in the late 1970s as a member of the groundbreaking female rap formation The Sequence. At a later age she continued solo as a neo-soul and R&B artist and was nominated three times for the Grammy music prize. The American could also be seen in various films. For example the comedy Ride Along and the comic horror film Scary Movie V.
