American pianist Claire Huangci to open 65th anniversary « Ohrid Summer »

American pianist with a glittering artistic career, Claire Huangci, will open the 65th anniversary of the Ohrid Summer Festival on July 12 at the Antique Theater in Ohrid.

This was announced today by the director of the National Institution « Ohrid Summer », Gjorgji Suckovski, at a press conference that promoted the program of this year’s festival edition.

– For the opening ceremony titled « Transformation of the Senses » I am with great honor, Edwin Ownter conductor, Claire Juangci Piano from the United States, the Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra and Rafael Carrico, a visual designer. At the Antique Theater we will organize an extremely musical-visual experience with impressive video projects and the use of state-of-the-art visual technologies. The highest criteria of the festival are preserving the program, which proudly announces the cream of the world music elite. I would sing out the most eminent pianists Mikhail Pjetnov, Lukasz Vondrachek, violinists Vadim Susman and Jack Libek, cellist Daniel Muller Shot as well as the legendary casting artist La yesterday in the duo. The head of the NI « Ohrid Summer » has also announced that this year’s 65th edition of the festival will be marked with a rich birthday program.

– « Ohrid Summer » for the first time comes out of the famous scenes, which on August 3rd we present the mega spectacle Carmina Burana – Symphony of Bits in performing more than 70 artists on stage together with the famous electronic duo of the Republic of Serbia, which will also start the celebration of the celebration, Singer, then prominent Anna Lipsa – Tofovic, and now with our primary with the biggest international career and pearl voice, Ana Durlovski – explained director Jukovski.

Minister of Culture and Tourism Zoran Sutkov emphasized that « Ohrid Summer » is one of the most important cultural events in our country.

– « Ohrid Summer » is much more than a festival, it is a symbol of the cultural maturity of our country, a symbol of openness to the world, a symbol of the top art and the cultural ambassador of our country. This year, too, the festival will bring a program that retains the top art standard, but will also open the door to new cultural perspectives. As the director pointed out, we will have artists from international rank, but soloists, orchestras, and Macedonian names that shine on world scenes, soloists, orchestras, theater ensembles, modern projects and traditional performances – said Minister Sutkov.

According to him, « Ohrid Summer » is also a major driver of tourism, a festival, which not only promotes culture but also stimulates cultural tourism, strengthens the economy and positions Macedonia on the cultural and tourist map of Europe and the world.

– During the festival days, Ohrid becomes the center of international attention. Thousands of visitors, tourists, cultural lovers, artists and media come to Ohrid to feel the blend of art, nature and history – he said.

As the music program of the Ohrid Summer Festival, Simona Gjorceva, the music program will offer 29 music events this year with the participation of more than 300 artists from the US, China and Europe. The goal, according to her, is to create a top -level cultural exchange platform, with artists whose second home is the most renowned world concert halls.

-We have developed the program with huge and intense engagement, in close and daily cooperation with all stakeholders and institutions, constant exchange of ideas and information, as well as in detail the harmonization of the music-cultural aspects and features with the director Cukkovski. Thanks to this dynamic teamwork, for a record time we have been able to compile a program that, I believe, will approve and delight the audience – said Gjorcheva.

According to Drama Program coach Nenad Vitanov, the Ohrid Summer Festival has been designed as an international art platform for the promotion and performance of the best works of art from Macedonia and the world.

– This year in the drama program we will be honored to follow a mosaic of a variety of genres and styles, unique creations of top actors, innovative and contemporary readings of classical and contemporary works of the World Theater, director’s craft masters, visual paintings. I am sure it will be provocative and inspiring for theater audiences to follow the actions of plays stretching over five centuries by actualizing the again eternal human doubts, longings, ideals, disappointments, exales, aspirations, expectations, giving up, fights, fights, fights, defeats, defeats, defeats, defeats,

Like the music, the drama program will offer unforgettable moments for audiences of all ages. This year, two premieres will be played at the Ohrid Summer Summer, the theater play « Amadeus » produced by the Turkish Theater Skopje and the theater play « Ruta » produced by the Skopje Drama Theater, and the European premiere will also have the « Electra » theater play « South Korea ». The monodrama « All the Most Beautiful Things » with Igor Angelov will be performed.

The Ohrid Summer Festival is held under the auspices of the President of the State, Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova and with the support of the Ministry of Culture, the Municipality of Ohrid, as well as many sponsors, supporters and friends of the festival. This year the general sponsor of « Ohrid Summer » is A1 Macedonia. As Director Jukkovski announced, this year’s theme is « art transforms » that indicates the power of art to change society, to inspire and create new perspectives. The Ohrid Peacock, a recognizable symbol in Macedonian culture and tradition, will be a design solution for the 65th edition, and « Ohrid Summer » has made it together with the marketing agency « Idea Plus ».
