Notable performance. The Romanian athlete Amalia Covaliu won the gold medal in the female sword test on Tuesday at the World Championships for Cadets in Wuxi (China), after defeating Chinese Qimiao Pan.

Amalia Covaliu did not evolve in the first round, and in the second round he defeated the compatriot Amelie Pescaru, with 15-7, in the third round he won the duel with the South Korean Sabre Dahui Moon, with 15-5, in the eighth he won to the limit in front of the Hungarian Boglarka Komthy, with 15-14.
