Alpine’s electrical future – Diepresse.com

Alpine was founded in Normandy 70 years ago. The honorable exotic status would be gladly down, which screw sales up. This is now the task of the Elektro-Crossover A390, which should be covered by ease-without being easy.

Zinedine Zidane is sitting in the passenger seat when the car rolls onto the stage – France’s strong football legend knows with Pierre Gasly next to him, the young man is full -time Formula 1-Pilot.

That it in Alpine-F1-Team is not that great that neo-team boss Flavio Briatoree the racing car for 2026 Power units worried that for the first time not from Renault will come, but from Mercedes,, Quel Malheur!, All of this should not play a role that evening at the end of May.

Here in Dieppe, where the country plunges into the Atlantic via cliffs, the celebration is celebrated this weekend, the small town in Normandy is festively equipped for the arrival of fans from all over Europe (and also elsewhere), the community 70 years of alpine want to commit.

150,000 guests are expected, an exceptional situation, especially in the low season, and more than one in ten will arrive with their own car, i.e. an alpine, everything between brand new and museum play.

Dieppe and the small but fine and world -famous car brand anyway, which is almost one. « We are so proud, » says the lady at the cashier when she recognizes the visitor that has come for it.

But back to the stage, which is now well filled in a specially built marquee close to the beach: Zizou, as you call it tenderly, the Formula 1 driver Gasly, other racers such as the Salzburg Ferdinand Habsburg and of course Renault-Würdenbäger with CEO Luca de Meo at the top.

At Alpine, founded in 1955 by the young Renault dealer and motorsport enthusiasts Jean Rédélé in Dieppe, everything has always been turned for lightweight, motto: no longer PS, but fewer kilos to reach the finish faster. The Alpine A110-flat, light, rear engine, mostly in blue-brought the rally World Cup title to Dieppe in 1973. Renault also took command that year.

Below without the Dieppe plant: Body of the new Alpine A390 before it is placed on the electroplay with battery, chassis and three drive engines.

This corresponds to the mood five years ago when the plans were made. In the meantime, there is no longer any talk of a quick electric march in the markets. A self-run will not be the model offensive, after all, seven models should be created with alpine emblem over the next seven years, including a sports car. The “Lightweight” Marklaim should connect them all.

Not easy with electric cars, the high battery weight of which is hardly negotiable. The weight of the A390 officially starts at 2190 kilograms for the GT variant. But technically there is already scope – the weight can be dissolved in a limited extent in perception. Power is plentiful, up to 470 hp at the GTS, and two rear engines can initiate strong torque vectoring due to the targeted wheel control. The zero-on-100 value (3.9 seconds) is the same as with the A110-which weighs less than half.
