Almost a ton of drugs, captured by police
Over 930 kilograms of drugs were captured by police, in collaboration with DIICOT, at national level, between January 1 and May 23, informs the Romanian Police.
According to a press release sent on Saturday, over 330 kilograms of the captured drugs were at high risk, and about 600 kilograms were risk drugs, over 550 kilograms of them being cannabis.
In the operations, about 33,000 tablets were discovered, of which over 28,000 were high -risk drug tablets and over 4,200 – risk drugs.
The authorities also identified about 150 kilograms of green vegetable mass, made up of the mass of the plants and the mass of the vegetable fragments containing THC (over 44 kilograms of dry vegetable mass), as well as about 400 cannabis plants.
Also, in 2025 348 operative actions were carried out on the line of combating drug trafficking, the Romanian Police says. These consisted of implementing 1,133 home search warrants, research of 1,249 persons, withholding 616 persons, preventive and home arrest of 427 persons, as well as placement under judicial control of 86 persons.
It should be mentioned that the police and prosecutors DIICOT carried out at national level, between April 29 and May 16, 2025, the Operation ‘Blizzard 5’ for identifying and confiscating significant drug quantities, introduced in Romania through courier companies. Thus, over 150 kilograms of cannabis, over 5 kilograms of cocaine, 300 grams 3-MMC, several tablets, a dose of heroin, as well as money, were discovered.
So far, within this operation, over 30 people have been detained and arrested.
The activities were carried out by the anti -drug structures together with the institutional partners within the Romanian Customs and the Romanian Border Police, including with canine teams.
