Almost 50 people arrested on the first day of Operation Easter 2025

A total of 47 people were arrested on the first day of Operation Easter 2025: 30 for driving with an alcohol rate in the blood higher than allowed and 17 for driving without legal qualification.

On Saturday, GNR reveals the operation data between 00h00 and 11:59 pm on Friday.

The operation will be in force until the 21st and aims to combat crime and contribute to the reduction of road accident during the festivities.

In addition to the arrests, the GNR states that 6,413 drivers were inspected, of which 75 drives with excess alcohol and of these, 30 were arrested for driving with a blood alcohol rate equal to or greater than 1.2 g/l.

In turn, GNR detected 1,437 road offenses: 540 by speeding, 45 excess alcohol, 40 for lack or incorrect use of the seat belt and/or retention system for children (SRC), 55 for improper use of the mobile phone in the exercise of driving, 139 for lack of compulsory periodic inspection and 68 for lack of compulsory civil liability insurance.

As for road claim, 268 accidents were recorded, without deadly victims, but, however, with the record of seven serious injuries and 80 minor injuries.
