Allegro trains in St. Petersburg start operating to Turku and Oulu
Trains|Traffic will begin towards the end of the year.
Previously Known as Allegro, trains begin traffic on VR long-distance routes from Helsinki to Turku and Oulu. The name of the trains will be Pendolino Plus in the future. The equipment will start operating at the end of this year, VR says in the release.
Pendolino Plus trains will partially replace InterCity and Pendolino trains on routes. In addition, for example, a whole new early morning turn is planned from Oulu to Helsinki. The new equipment will not affect the travel time, and the routes stop at the same stations as it is now, VR says.

In Pendolino Plus trains, VR introduces a new Extra Plus travel class with more train staff than usual. The Extra Plus class also has the opportunity to order a pre -ordered meal. There will also be cabins to work on trains.

Vr interrupted the traffic of the Allegro trains between Helsinki and St. Petersburg in March 2022 after Russia had started a full-scale attack war in Ukraine.
VR took over the trains at the end of 2023 after the Russian State Railways (RZD) had neglected its financial obligations at Karelia Trains. Already at that time, VR announced that trains under the name Allegro would be brought to domestic long-distance traffic.
