Better not lawn today – or smile for the speed camera photo. The Germany -wide speed camera marathon takes place every spring. Speeds are increasingly set up at various points for 24 hours and police forces are stationed. For the twelfth time, the speed camera marathon will take place this year. It is part of the Germany-wide « Speedweek », which is coordinated by the European Transport Police Network Roadpol. The campaign is about sensitizing speed in road traffic.
Start of the speed of lightning marathon 2025 in Bavaria Wednesday, April 9th,, at 6 a.m.. The action lasts up to Thursday, April 10th, 6 a.m.. Twelve federal states take part in the campaign days. The Bavarian Ministry of the Interior published the locations of the speed camera again this year.

This is what the balance of the speed of speedmades in 2024 looked
Last year the speed camera marathon took place on Friday, April 19th. The police caught around 8,600 traffic offenders in Bavaria. It was measured at almost 1000 measuring points in the whole Free State.
The highest pace crossed came from a driver who was traveling in Durach in Swabia on the BAB 7 at Durach. At 166, he raced into the radar trap instead of the allowed 80 km / h. The consequence: a three -month driving ban, one fine and two points in Flensburg.
Bavaria’s Interior Minister Joachim Herrman said Balance of the 2024 lightning marathon: « There are still far too many razors on our roads. And despite the days of notice. » This is absolutely irresponsible. The speed camera marathon is an important building block in the Bavarian traffic safety program. « This is not a rip -off, but a wake -up call for traffic safety. »
